🛠️ Step-by-Step: How to Replace a Samsung Dryer Belt

🔌 SAFETY FIRST: Unplug your dryer and disconnect the gas (if applicable) before starting.


1. Remove the Top Panel

  • Remove the two screws at the back corners of the top panel.

  • Slide the panel back and lift it off.


2. Remove the Control Panel

  • Disconnect any wire harnesses (take a picture for reference).

  • Remove screws securing the panel and lift it away.


3. Remove the Front Panel

  • Open the door and remove screws around the door frame.

  • Carefully lift and disconnect the door switch wiring.

  • Set the panel aside.


4. Remove the Drum

  • Remove the belt (if it’s still intact) from the motor shaft and idler pulley.

  • Lift the drum straight out.


5. Install the New Belt

  • Wrap the new belt around the drum (grooved side inward).

  • Carefully place the drum back in position.

  • Route the belt under the idler pulley and over the motor shaft (look for a routing diagram inside the panel or online).

6. Reassemble the Dryer

  • Replace the front panel and reconnect door switch wires.

  • Reattach the control panel and reconnect any wire harnesses.

  • Slide the top panel back into place and secure with screws.

  • If the drum spins smoothly and there’s no noise, you’re good to go!
