Genuine OEM 4317943 Refrigerator Ice Maker Kit
The 4317943 is a genuine OEM ice maker assembly kit from Whirlpool for Whirlpool-built refrigerators sold under the Whirlpool, Kenmore, KitchenAid, Maytag, Jenn-Air, Amana, Roper, and related names. The ice maker is the unit in the freezer that fills with water, freezes it, and ejects the cubes into the ice bin. Over time, contacts corrode and the mechanism wears out, and the refrigerator may make little or no ice, make too much, or leak water from the unit.
This is a complete replacement ice maker, so you swap the whole unit rather than hunting for a failed internal component. As a genuine OEM part, not an aftermarket equivalent, it matches the original factory fit and specification. The kit does not include the shut-off arm. Transfer the arm from your original ice maker, or order the arm for your model.

Installation Notes
⚠️ Unplug Power and Shut Off Water Unplug the refrigerator and turn off the water supply before starting. Empty the ice bin and remove it from the freezer. Following your model's service guide, remove the screws holding the old ice maker to the freezer wall, then disconnect its wiring harness and pull the unit free. Transfer the shut-off arm from the old unit to the new one. If the harness on the new kit doesn't match your refrigerator, reuse the harness from the old ice maker. Mount the new ice maker in the same position, reconnect the harness, and secure the screws. Restore water and power, and allow several hours for the first batch of ice. Tools commonly needed are a nut driver, a flat-blade screwdriver, and a Phillips screwdriver.
Frequently Asked Questions
My refrigerator isn't making ice. Is this the part I need?
It may be, if the water supply is on, the water filter is not clogged, and the freezer is cold enough. If the ice maker's contacts are corroded, it leaks, or it no longer cycles, replacing the whole unit is the simplest fix.
Does the kit include the shut-off arm?
No. Remove the shut-off arm from your original ice maker and fit it on the new one, or order the arm for your model.
The wiring harness on the new ice maker doesn't match mine. What do I do?
You can remove the harness from your existing ice maker and reuse it on the new unit.
Is this a genuine Whirlpool part?
Yes. This is a genuine OEM Whirlpool part, not an aftermarket equivalent.
Will this fit my refrigerator?
It is listed for a very wide range of Whirlpool-family refrigerators. Match the number on your old ice maker against the Replaces list, or contact our support team with your model number and we'll confirm fit before you order.
