⚠️ Disconnect Power And Water Before Installing Unplug the washer and turn off the water supply before you begin, and wear work gloves. Pull the washer out from the wall and drain the hoses into a bucket. Detach the hot and cold hoses, remove the screws holding the valve bracket, and disconnect the wires from the valve's five terminals, noting where each goes. Fit the new valve, reconnect the wires and hoses (hand-tighten, then add about two-thirds of a turn with pliers), turn the water on and check for leaks, then plug in the washer and run a test cycle.
