On most compatible models, the evaporator fan is located behind the freezer back panel. Remove the screws securing the freezer back panel and carefully slide it out to expose the evaporator coils and fan assembly. If ice has built up on the fan or coils, use a hair dryer to melt it before attempting to remove the fan — do not force a frozen fan free. Disconnect the 2-pin wire connector from the old motor. Remove the fan blade by pulling it straight off the motor shaft, then unscrew the motor mounting brackets and remove the old motor.
