AAN73209838 Genuine OEM LG Washer Drain Pump & Cabinet Base Assembly
The AAN73209838 is a genuine LG OEM combined drain pump and cabinet base assembly for LG washers. This assembly bundles the washer's drain pump — which pumps water out of the drum and through the drain hose at the end of each cycle — together with the cabinet base structure it's mounted to. Because these two components ship together as one assembly, replacing this part addresses both the drain pump function and the base structure it sits in at the same time.
Common causes of failure include a worn or jammed drain pump motor, or physical damage or corrosion to the cabinet base itself over years of use. A failing assembly typically shows up as the washer failing to drain, unusual noise during the drain phase, or water leaking from underneath the unit.
Quick Answer
The AAN73209838 Genuine OEM LG Washer Drain Pump & Cabinet Base Assembly fixes LG washers that won't drain, make unusual noise during the drain phase, or are leaking water from underneath the unit. Combined drain pump and cabinet base assembly. This is a larger, heavier assembly than a standalone drain pump — installation involves more disassembly than a simple pump swap.
Common Problems This Part Fixes
Washer not draining — standing water left in the tub after a cycle
Unusual noise during the drain phase of the cycle
Water leaking from underneath the washer
Cycle stalling or failing to advance past the drain step
Visible damage or corrosion to the cabinet base structure

⚠️ Unplug Washer And Shut Off Water Supply Before Starting — Remove Standing Water First Disconnect power at the outlet or shut off the circuit breaker, and shut off the water supply before beginning. Wear work gloves. If there's standing water left in the tub from the original failure, remove as much as possible by hand with a cup or towel before starting the repair. Because this is a combined pump and cabinet base assembly rather than a standalone pump, access typically requires tipping the washer back or removing more of the cabinet than a simple pump swap — check your model's service diagram for the exact disassembly sequence, since it varies by model. Photograph the wiring and hose connections before disconnecting anything. Disconnect the electrical connector and the drain hose connections from the old assembly, remove the fasteners securing it to the washer frame, and carefully remove it, noting how the base supports the rest of the cabinet. Install the new AAN73209838 assembly in the same position, reconnect the drain hose connections securely, reconnect the electrical connector fully, and secure all mounting fasteners. Reassemble the cabinet in reverse order, restore the water supply and power, then run a cycle and check underneath for leaks while confirming the tub drains completely at the end. Tools needed: Phillips screwdriver, socket set, pliers, towels or a small cup for removing standing water, work gloves.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need this whole assembly, or is there a smaller drain pump option for my model?
Some LG washer models offer a standalone drain pump as a separate, smaller part, while others require this combined pump-and-base assembly because the two are integrated on that particular platform. Check with our support team using your model number to confirm whether a standalone pump is available for your washer before ordering this larger assembly, since it can save you time and cost if a smaller part fits your model.
Why is this repair more involved than a typical drain pump replacement?
Because this part includes the cabinet base structure along with the pump, accessing and replacing it typically involves more disassembly than swapping a standalone pump alone — you're not just disconnecting a pump, you're also working with part of the washer's supporting frame. Budget more time for this repair than you would for a simple pump-only replacement, and consider having a second person help support the cabinet during removal and installation.
Is this an OEM or aftermarket part?
This is a genuine OEM part, manufactured by LG to factory specifications — guaranteed fit, materials, and performance. It matches the original pump design, hose connections, and cabinet base mounting configuration of the assembly originally installed in your washer.

XPARTCO 8318084 Washer Lid Switch Replaces WP8318084
The XPARTCO 8318084 is an aftermarket replacement lid switch assembly compatible with a wide range of Whirlpool, Kenmore, KitchenAid, Roper, Estate, Maytag, Amana, Magic Chef, Crosley, and Admiral direct-drive top-load washing machines. The lid switch is a safety component located under the control panel at the top rear left corner of the washer — it detects whether the lid is open or closed and prevents the washer from spinning and agitating when the lid is open. When the lid is closed, the switch signals the control that it's safe to operate. Without a functioning lid switch, the washer may refuse to start, won't spin, won't agitate, won't drain, or stop advancing through its cycle.
Gray and white plastic housing. Electrical rating: 125–250V, 50–60Hz, 1/2 HP. Dimensions: 3"L x 2"W x 1-15/16"H. Features 3 flat terminals that the wiring harness plugs onto, plus a green grounding wire. It directly replaces WP8318084, WP8318084VP, AP3180933, AP6012742, AH886960, EA886960, EAP11745957, ES8084, TJ90ES8084, PD00002474, PN8318084, PS886960, PS11745957, and 11480-61. This is one of the most widely used lid switches across the Whirlpool direct-drive platform, fitting hundreds of top-load washer models. Installs in 15–30 minutes with basic hand tools.

⚠️ Unplug Washer Before Starting — Wear Work Gloves Disconnect power before beginning. Wear work gloves to protect your hands. The lid switch is located under the control panel at the top rear left corner of the washer. To access it, you'll need to remove the control panel: on most direct-drive washers, use a putty knife or flat-blade screwdriver to release the spring clips at the bottom edge of the control panel (typically two clips), then flip the control panel up and back on its hinges to rest against the wall behind the washer. You should now see the lid switch mounted on the left side with two screws. Photograph the wiring before disconnecting. Unplug the wiring harness from the 3 flat terminals on the old lid switch — note how the harness connects. Remove the two mounting screws holding the old switch in place. Also disconnect the green grounding wire (it's attached separately with its own screw). Remove the old switch. Install the new 8318084 switch in the same position using the two mounting screws. Reconnect the green grounding wire with its screw. Plug the wiring harness back onto the 3 flat terminals, matching your photos. Flip the control panel back down and press it into place until the spring clips snap. Plug the washer back in and test by closing the lid and running a cycle — confirm the washer starts, agitates, spins, and drains. Tools needed: Phillips screwdriver, putty knife or flat-blade screwdriver (for spring clips), work gloves.
Frequently Asked Questions
My washer won't spin but still fills — is the lid switch the problem?
Very likely, yes. On direct-drive top-load washers, the lid switch is a safety interlock that prevents spinning and agitating when the lid is open. When the switch fails, the control never receives the "lid closed" signal, so it blocks the spin (and often the agitate and drain) as a safety measure — but filling still works because that doesn't require the lid interlock. If your washer fills but won't advance past that point, or agitates but refuses to spin, the lid switch is the prime suspect. You can confirm by testing the switch for continuity with a multimeter when the lever is pressed — a working switch shows continuity when activated.
Why would a bad lid switch cause a burning smell?
This happens when the motor tries to engage but the lid switch isn't signaling correctly, causing the motor to stall or repeatedly attempt to start without completing the cycle. A stalling direct-drive motor generates heat that produces a burning smell. If you notice a burning smell AND the washer isn't spinning or agitating properly, check the lid switch first — it's far more likely (and cheaper) than a motor failure. If the burning smell continues after replacing the switch, have the motor and motor coupling inspected by a technician.
What's the difference between 8318084 and WP8318084?
These are the same lid switch across production revisions. 8318084 was the original part number and WP8318084 is the Whirlpool-era part number (with the "WP" prefix Whirlpool adopted). WP8318084VP is a variant packaging code. All are physically and functionally identical — if your washer's parts diagram shows any of these numbers, this listing is the correct replacement. The many additional cross-references (AP3180933, AP6012742, ES8084, PS886960, PS11745957, etc.) are catalog identifiers from various parts distributors for the same switch.
Does this fit my stacked laundry center or front-load washer?
No — the 8318084 is specifically designed for standalone direct-drive top-load washers on the Whirlpool platform. Stacked washer/dryer laundry centers use different lid switch part numbers (such as the 3355806 for Whirlpool thin twin units), and front-load washers use door lock assemblies instead of lid switches. Always search by your appliance's model number to confirm the correct part. Contact our support team with your model number if you're unsure which switch fits your machine.
Is this an OEM or aftermarket part?
This is an aftermarket replacement part built to OEM-equivalent quality standards. It is not a genuine Whirlpool OEM part, but is manufactured to match the electrical specifications (125–250V, 50–60Hz, 1/2 HP), dimensions (3"L x 2"W x 1-15/16"H), 3-flat-terminal configuration, grounding wire, and lid-detection function of the original WP8318084 lid switch used in compatible Whirlpool, Kenmore, KitchenAid, Roper, Estate, Maytag, Amana, and related direct-drive top-load washers.

XPARTCO WH01X20826 Washing Machine Shock Absorber
The XPARTCO WH01X20826 is an aftermarket replacement shock absorber (damper) for GE front-load washers. The wash tub inside a front-load washer hangs suspended inside the cabinet, and a set of these shock absorbers is what controls that movement — dampening the tub's vibration and motion during spin so it doesn't bang against the cabinet or shake the whole machine. These washers typically use four shock absorbers working together around the tub, and this listing is for a single individual shock absorber.
Over time the internal damping material in these shocks wears out, or the shock can physically separate from its mounting point — something that can also happen if the washer is moved or shifted without the tub properly secured first. Because all four shocks on a given washer are typically the same age and under the same stress, if one has failed the others are often not far behind — many technicians recommend ordering four of this same part and replacing the full set together as a preventative measure. A worn or detached shock absorber produces a very recognizable symptom: excessive vibration, shaking, or banging noise during the spin cycle, sometimes strong enough that the washer visibly moves or "walks" across the floor. It directly replaces WH01X20826, AGE25988, AP5982139, AGE25988, EAP11701130, PD00037528, PS11701130.
Quick Answer
The XPARTCO WH01X20826 Washing Machine Shock Absorber fixes GE front-load washers (and select Hotpoint, Haier, Monogram, Café, and Kenmore models built on the GE platform) that vibrate, shake, or bang excessively during spin, or seem to "walk" across the floor. Sold as a single individual shock absorber. Replaces WH01X20826, AGE25988, AP5982139, AGE25988, EAP11701130, PD00037528, PS11701130. These washers use four shock absorbers total — if one has failed, order four of this part to replace the full set, since they wear on the same schedule.
Common Problems This Part Fixes
Excessive vibration or shaking during the spin cycle
Loud banging or knocking noise from inside the cabinet during spin
Washer that seems to "walk" or move across the floor during operation
Tub striking the cabinet frame or nearby panels
Shock absorber that has visibly separated or detached from its mounting point
Noise or vibration that started or worsened after the washer was moved or relocated
Visible wear, cracking, or looseness in the shock absorber material

⚠️ Unplug Washer Before Starting — Consider Replacing All Four Shocks Together Disconnect power at the outlet or shut off the circuit breaker before beginning. Wear work gloves. Access to the shock absorbers typically requires removing the top and/or front panel of the washer to reach the tub suspension points — check your model's service diagram, since access varies. Photograph how each old shock absorber connects to the frame and the tub before removing anything, since these components are symmetrical around the tub and easy to reverse or mismatch. Disconnect the old shock absorber from its mounting point at both the frame and tub ends, and remove the mounting pin. Install the new shock absorber in the same position with its mounting pin, matching the original orientation. If you're only replacing one shock, be aware the remaining three original shocks are the same age and under the same stress — many technicians recommend ordering three more of this same part and replacing all four together to avoid reopening the washer again soon after. Once installed, gently rock the tub by hand to confirm even resistance at each corner before reassembling the panels. Restore power and run a full spin cycle to confirm the vibration, shaking, or banging noise has resolved. Tools needed: Phillips screwdriver, nut driver, work gloves.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to order more than one of these?
This listing is for a single shock absorber, but GE front-load washers use four of them working together around the tub. If one has failed, it's strongly worth ordering four total and replacing the full set, since all four are typically the same age and have been under the same stress — replacing just one risks having to reopen the washer again soon after for the next one.
My washer started shaking right after I moved it to a new spot. Is that related?
Yes, this is a documented cause of shock absorber problems on this platform. If the tub wasn't properly secured or the washer was tilted significantly during a move, one or more shock absorbers can separate from their mounting point. Check that all four shocks are still properly connected at both ends before assuming a shock itself has failed — sometimes reseating a separated shock is all that's needed, though if it shows wear it's worth replacing regardless.
How much vibration is normal, and how do I know it's actually the shocks?
Some vibration during high-speed spin is normal, especially with an unbalanced load. But vibration strong enough to move the washer across the floor, or accompanied by a banging or knocking noise from inside the cabinet, points to a suspension problem rather than a simple unbalanced load. Try redistributing the laundry evenly in the drum and running the spin cycle again — if the shaking persists with a balanced load, inspect the shock absorbers for wear, cracking, or separation.
Is this an OEM or aftermarket part?
This is an aftermarket replacement part built to OEM-equivalent quality standards. It is not a genuine GE OEM part, but is manufactured to match the dimensions, mounting configuration, and damping performance of the original WH01X20826 shock absorber used in compatible GE, Hotpoint, Haier, Monogram, Café, and Kenmore front-load washers.

The Genuine OEM GE WH49X27322 is the transmission platform assembly and nut kit for select GE washer-dryer combo units. The platform supports the transmission and keeps it aligned with the drum. WH01X29528 Genuine OEM GE Washer Door Lock
The WH01X29528 is a genuine GE OEM door lock assembly for GE front-load washers and select GE Ultrafast 2-in-1 combo washer/dryers. This is a safety mechanism, not just a switch: when the door closes, the lock engages automatically and secures the door shut for the full length of the cycle, only releasing once the control confirms it's safe to open. This prevents the door from being opened mid-cycle, which would otherwise let water and detergent spill out and create both a mess and a safety hazard.
Rated 120VAC, 60Hz, 16A. Over time, the door lock can fail from physical damage or ordinary wear, and when it does, the symptoms can be wide-ranging: a washer that won't start because the control never confirms the door is locked, a cycle that stops partway through, a door that won't unlock at the end of a cycle, or in some cases excessive noise and shaking during operation since the lock also plays a role in keeping the door assembly seated correctly. It directly replaces AP6985313, EAP12749276, 4958749, PS12749276, PD00060769, ITW 12070-71, V13305, and 0024000128GE. As a genuine OEM part, the WH01X29528 is manufactured by GE to factory specifications — guaranteed fit, materials, and performance.
Quick Answer
The WH01X29528 Genuine OEM GE Washer Door Lock fixes GE front-load washers and GE Ultrafast combo washer/dryers where the door won't lock, the washer won't start, the door pops open or unlocks unexpectedly during the cycle, or the cycle stops partway through. 120VAC, 60Hz, 16A. Replaces AP6985313, EAP12749276, 4958749, PS12749276, PD00060769, ITW 12070-71, V13305, 0024000128GE. Before replacing, try a power reset — unplug the washer for 30 seconds and plug it back in — or hold Start/Pause for 15 seconds to command the control to release the lock; either can resolve a door stuck locked without needing a new part.
Common Problems This Part Fixes
Washer won't start because the door lock never confirms as locked
Door lock fails to engage, or the door pops open after locking
Door unlocks unexpectedly during the wash cycle
Cycle stops or interrupts partway through
Door won't unlock at the end of a completed cycle
Excessive noise or shaking during operation related to a loose door seal
Error code related to the door lock displayed on the control panel

⚠️ Unplug Washer Before Starting — Try A Power Reset First If The Door Is Stuck Locked Before replacing the part, try the simplest fixes first. Unplug the washer, wait 30 seconds, and plug it back in to let the control fully reboot — a simple power reset can release an operational lock and clear the problem without any disassembly. If that doesn't work, try holding the Start/Pause or Power button for 15 seconds to command the control to unlock the door; this doesn't always succeed but is quick to try before opening up the washer. If the door is still locked and you need physical access, never work on the appliance while it's connected to power. Once you've confirmed replacement is necessary, disconnect power at the outlet or shut off the circuit breaker. Wear work gloves. Access is typically from the front, working around the door boot/gasket to reach the lock assembly mounted to the front panel. Photograph the wiring harness connector and mounting position before disconnecting anything. Disconnect the harness connector from the old lock, remove its mounting screws, and pull it free. Install the new WH01X29528 in the same position, secure the mounting screws, and reconnect the harness connector fully. Reseat the door boot/gasket if it was disturbed, restore power, and run a test cycle to confirm the door locks, stays locked through the cycle, and releases normally at the end. Tools needed: Phillips screwdriver, work gloves.
Frequently Asked Questions
My washer's door is stuck locked. Do I need to replace this part right away?
Not necessarily — try the simple resets first. Unplug the washer for 30 seconds and plug it back in to let the control fully reboot, which can release an operational lock on its own. If that doesn't work, try holding the Start/Pause or Power button for 15 seconds, which commands the control to release the lock electronically. These steps resolve many stuck-door situations without needing to replace the lock assembly at all.
My washer won't start. Is that this part?
It's a strong possibility. The control won't begin a cycle until it receives confirmation that the door is locked, so if this lock has failed and isn't sending that signal, the washer will simply refuse to start even though everything else appears normal. Try the power reset steps above first, then check for a door lock-related error code on the display before assuming the part has failed.
I already replaced this lock once and it failed again. What should I check?
If a newly replaced lock fails again relatively quickly, it's worth having the washer's control board checked, since a board that's sending incorrect signals to the lock can cause repeat failures that look like the lock itself is bad. It's also worth confirming the door boot/gasket is seated correctly, since a misaligned door can put uneven stress on the lock mechanism.
Is this an OEM or aftermarket part?
This is a genuine OEM part, manufactured by GE to factory specifications — guaranteed fit, materials, and performance. It includes the same locking mechanism, switch design, and harness connector as the door lock originally installed in your GE front-load washer or Ultrafast combo washer/dryer.

Installation Notes
⚠️ Unplug Washer and Shut Off Water Before Starting Disconnect power and turn off the water supply before beginning any repair. Place towels and a shallow pan under the pump access area to catch residual water. Remove the front lower access panel of the washer. Before removing the pump, first clean the pump filter (WH23X38617) and check for a clogged filter or debris in the pump housing — a jammed impeller is sometimes mistaken for a failed pump. If the pump motor is confirmed failed, disconnect the wire harness and drain hoses from the old pump assembly, then unscrew or unclip the pump from the mounting bracket. Install the new WH11X39237 pump assembly, reconnect the drain hoses and secure with clamps, reconnect the wire harness, and reinstall the access panel. Restore power and water supply, then run a drain-only cycle to verify proper drainage and check for leaks. Tools needed: Phillips screwdriver, pliers, shallow pan or towels.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between WH11X39237 and WH11X29539?
These are the same drain pump assembly — WH11X39237 is the current updated part number that GE issued to replace the discontinued WH11X29539. If your washer's documentation, parts diagram, or old pump label shows WH11X29539, the WH11X39237 is the correct replacement to order.
Should I check the pump filter before replacing the drain pump?
Yes — always check and clean the pump filter (WH23X38617) before replacing the drain pump. A heavily clogged filter can restrict water flow enough to mimic pump failure symptoms, and a foreign object jammed in the impeller can stall the pump motor without permanently damaging it. Remove the filter, clear any debris from the housing and impeller, and test the washer again. If the pump still fails to drain after cleaning, then pump replacement is the next step.
How do I know if my drain pump has failed?
A failed drain pump typically causes the washer to stop mid-cycle with a drain error code, or to finish a cycle with standing water in the drum. You may also hear a loud humming noise during the drain phase — this indicates the motor is running but the impeller is not turning (jammed or broken). A grinding noise suggests physical damage to the impeller or pump housing. If the pump is completely silent during the drain cycle despite power being delivered to it, the motor has likely burned out.
Is the WH11X39237 compatible with GE Profile and GE 2-in-1 models?
Yes — the WH11X39237 is compatible with select GE Profile front-load washers in the PFW870, PFW950, PFW955, and PFQ83 series, as well as select GE 2-in-1 Washer/Dryer Combo models. Always verify your specific model number before ordering to confirm compatibility.
Is this an OEM or aftermarket part?
This is an aftermarket replacement part built to OEM-equivalent quality standards. It is not a genuine GE OEM part, but is manufactured to match the electrical specifications and physical dimensions of the original WH11X39237 drain pump assembly.

Genuine OEM WH08X37938 Washer Lid Switch Assembly
The WH08X37938 is a genuine OEM lid switch (lid lock) assembly from GE for GE and Hotpoint top-load washers, also used on select Kenmore models. The assembly locks the lid while the washer is running and releases it when the cycle ends, and it tells the control board the lid is closed and it's safe to run. When it wears out, cracks, or fails electrically, the washer may refuse to start, stop in the middle of a cycle, show a lid or door lock error, or fail to lock the lid at all.
This assembly replaces the original lock and switch as a unit, so you do not have to diagnose which internal contact has failed. As a genuine OEM part, not an aftermarket equivalent, it matches the original factory fit and specification. It mounts on the washer cabinet with an electrical connector and is a straightforward repair, usually done in under an hour.
Quick Answer
The Genuine OEM WH08X37938 Lid Switch Assembly fixes a GE or Hotpoint top-load washer that won't start, stops mid-cycle, won't lock the lid, or shows a lid or door lock error because the lid lock is worn or has failed. Complete replacement lock and switch assembly, genuine OEM. Classic symptom: you close the lid and nothing happens, or the washer starts then stops and signals a lid or lock fault.
Common Problems This Part Fixes
Washer won't start when the lid is closed
Washer stops partway through the wash, rinse, or spin
Lid will not lock, or stays locked after the cycle ends
Lid or door lock error codes
Loose, cracked, or visibly damaged lid lock

⚠️ Unplug Power and Shut Off Water Unplug the washer and turn off the water supply before starting. Work gloves are recommended. Open the lid and, following your model's service guide, remove the top panel or cabinet section to reach the lid lock mounted on the cabinet. Note the position of the old assembly, disconnect its wiring connector, and remove the screws holding it in place. Fit the new assembly in the same position, secure it, and reconnect the connector. Reassemble the washer, restore power and water, and run a short cycle to confirm the lid locks, the washer starts, and the lid releases at the end.
Frequently Asked Questions
My washer won't start with the lid closed. Is this the part I need?
A failed lid lock is a common cause. The control board won't start a cycle unless it sees the lid is closed and locked. Check that the lid closes fully and that nothing is blocking it. If it still won't start, the lid lock is a likely cause.
Is a lid switch the same as a lid lock?
On these washers, the lid switch and lock are combined in one assembly, which this part replaces.
My old part is marked WH08X32697 or WH08X31577. Will this work?
Those numbers are on the Replaces list. Compare the connector and mounting against your old part, or contact our support team with your model number and we'll confirm.
Will this fit my front-load washer?
No. This is for top-load washers.
Is this an OEM part?
Yes. This is a genuine OEM GE part, not an aftermarket equivalent, so it matches the original factory fit and specification.

MDS66290824 Genuine OEM Washer Door Gasket
The Genuine OEM MDS66290824 is a factory-original door boot gasket manufactured by LG for use in LG front-load washers and washer-dryer combo units. The gasket forms the watertight seal between the door, cabinet, and tub, flexing with every door open/close cycle while keeping wash water contained inside the drum. As the rubber ages, it commonly cracks, tears, or develops mold/mildew buildup in its folds, and a compromised seal leads directly to water leaking out around the door during the wash or spin cycle.
This is a current-production part: MDS66290824. As the genuine LG part, it ships in factory black rubber matching the original color, fold pattern, and mounting groove, so it seats and seals exactly like the original.

Installation Notes
⚠️ Unplug Washer Before Starting Disconnect power before beginning. Open the door and locate the large outer retaining band (spring clamp) holding the gasket to the front cabinet panel — release it with pliers or a flat-blade screwdriver and pull the gasket's outer lip free from the cabinet opening. Working around the boot, fold the gasket into the drum opening to access the inner retaining band securing it to the tub; release this band as well and remove the old gasket. Check for and transfer any small parts such as the drain/pressure sensor port fitting if your model routes one through the boot. Fit the new MDS66290824 gasket's inner lip into the tub-side mounting groove first, working it evenly around the full circumference, then reinstall the inner retaining band. Fold the gasket back out and seat the outer lip into the cabinet opening, aligning it evenly, then reinstall the outer retaining band. Restore power and run a cycle with the door closed to check for leaks around the full perimeter of the seal. Tools needed: pliers or a flat-blade screwdriver, and a spring clamp tool if your model uses a wire-spring outer band.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is MDS66290824 the same as MDS66290803?
MDS66290824 is the current genuine LG gasket, and it supersedes the earlier MDS66290803 revision, which is no longer produced new. If your washer's parts diagram or old gasket shows MDS66290803, this MDS66290824 is the correct current replacement — LG has updated the part number but the fit and function for your model remain the same.
My washer is leaking water from the door — is this the part I need?
In most cases, yes. A worn, cracked, or torn door boot gasket is the most common cause of water leaking around the door on a front-load washer. Inspect the gasket's folds closely for splits or debris (coins, small items) caught in the seal, since a foreign object trapped in the boot can also prevent a full seal without the gasket itself being damaged.
Do I need to transfer any parts from my old gasket?
Check whether your model routes a drain hose fitting, pressure sensor port, or door lock striker through the boot itself. If so, that fitting typically transfers from the old gasket to the new one, or is a separate reusable part — inspect your old gasket carefully before disposal in case a component needs to be moved over.
Can I clean mold out of the gasket instead of replacing it?
Light surface mold can often be cleaned with a diluted bleach or vinegar solution and a soft brush, and running the washer's tub-clean cycle regularly helps prevent it from returning. However, if mold has caused the rubber to degrade, crack, or lose its seal, cleaning won't restore a proper watertight fit — replacement is the reliable fix once the gasket itself is damaged.
