⚠️ Unplug Refrigerator and Shut Off Water Before Starting Unplug the refrigerator and shut off the water supply before beginning. Remove all food and shelving from the freezer compartment. On most compatible models, the evaporator fan is located behind the freezer back panel. Remove the screws securing the freezer back panel and carefully slide it out to expose the evaporator coils and fan assembly. If ice has built up on the fan or coils, use a hair dryer to melt it before attempting to remove the fan — do not force a frozen fan free. Disconnect the 2-pin wire connector from the old motor. Remove the fan blade by pulling it straight off the motor shaft, then unscrew the motor mounting brackets and remove the old motor. Install the new W10464673 motor in the same position, secure the mounting brackets, press the fan blade back onto the shaft, and reconnect the 2-pin connector. Reinstall the freezer back panel, restore power and water, and verify the fan runs when the compressor starts. Tools needed: Phillips screwdriver, hair dryer (if coils are iced), work gloves.
