W11175771 Dishwasher Water Valve (OE)

Description

XPARTCO W11175771 Dishwasher Water Inlet Valve

The XPARTCO W11175771 is an aftermarket replacement dishwasher water inlet valve compatible with a wide range of Whirlpool, KitchenAid, Maytag, Amana, Kenmore, Jenn-Air, Crosley, Magic Chef, Admiral, Norge, and Roper dishwashers. The water inlet valve is a solenoid-operated valve that controls the flow of water from the household supply line into the dishwasher tub during each wash and rinse cycle. When the control board calls for water, it energizes the solenoid coil to open the valve and allow water to flow in. When the dishwasher has received the correct amount of water, the solenoid de-energizes and the valve closes.

When the water inlet valve fails — or when its internal screen becomes clogged with mineral deposits — the dishwasher may not fill with water, fill too slowly, stop mid-cycle, overfill, leak between cycles, or make an unusual high-pitched whining or buzzing noise during the fill phase. Note: the internal screen on this valve is not designed to be cleaned or serviced — if it is clogged, the full valve assembly should be replaced. This valve directly replaces W10195047, W10872255, W10327250, W10327249, W11130744, W11130743, AP6339872, W10316814, PS11752927, and additional cross-reference numbers. Installs in 20–30 minutes with basic hand tools.

What is OE ?:  “OE” (Original Equipment) parts are built to the same specifications, materials, and performance standards as the original factory parts. They offer identical fit and function to OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) components but are typically sold under independent brands like XPARTCO for better affordability.

Installation Notes

⚠️ Unplug Dishwasher and Shut Off Water Before Starting Disconnect power and shut off the water supply valve under the sink before beginning. Wear work gloves — there are sharp metal edges inside the dishwasher cabinet. The water inlet valve is located behind the lower access panel at the front bottom of the dishwasher. Remove the screws securing the kick plate and lower access panel. The valve is mounted to the inside of the dishwasher cabinet near the left front corner. Photograph the wire harness connection and supply line routing before disconnecting. Use an adjustable wrench to disconnect the water supply line from the valve inlet. Disconnect the wire harness from the solenoid terminals. Unscrew the valve mounting bracket and remove the old valve. Install the new W11175771 valve in the same position, reconnect the wire harness and supply line, and secure the mounting bracket. Reinstall the access panel, restore water supply and power, and run a short wash cycle to verify normal filling and check for leaks. Tools needed: Phillips screwdriver, adjustable wrench, work gloves.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does the dishwasher water inlet valve do?

The water inlet valve is an electrically controlled solenoid valve that opens on command from the dishwasher's control board to allow household water pressure to push water through the supply line and into the dishwasher tub. It opens at the start of each wash or rinse cycle and closes once the correct water level is reached. A failed valve — whether stuck open, stuck closed, or with a burned-out solenoid coil — prevents the dishwasher from filling correctly, which affects washing performance and can trigger cycle errors.

Can I clean the valve screen instead of replacing the valve?

No — the internal screen on the W11175771 is integrated into the valve body and is not designed to be removed, cleaned, or serviced. If mineral deposits or debris have clogged the screen, the complete valve assembly must be replaced. Attempting to disassemble the valve to clean the screen typically damages the valve body or solenoid and makes the valve unusable. If slow fill is your symptom, replacing the valve is the correct repair.

My dishwasher makes a high-pitched whining sound when filling — is it the valve?

Yes — a high-pitched whining or buzzing noise specifically during the fill phase of a dishwasher cycle is a very common sign of a failing or partially clogged water inlet valve. The noise is caused by the solenoid vibrating or the water flow being restricted through a partially blocked screen. If the whining only occurs during fill and the dishwasher is otherwise washing normally, the valve is beginning to fail — replacing it before it fails completely prevents a mid-cycle no-fill issue.

What is the difference between W11175771, W10327250, and W10195047?

These are all part numbers for the same dishwasher water inlet valve across different production runs. W10195047 was an early version, W10327250 and W10872255 were later updates, W11130744 was a further revision, and W11175771 is the current production part number. Whirlpool updates part numbers when minor manufacturing changes are made — all of these are the same valve and are fully interchangeable. If your dishwasher's parts diagram shows any of these older numbers, the W11175771 is the correct current replacement.
