Genuine Whirlpool part
XPARTCO 3405-001034 Microwave Door Switch (Normally Open)
The XPARTCO 3405-001034 is an aftermarket replacement normally open (NO) microwave door interlock switch for select Samsung, Whirlpool, Maytag, Kenmore and other microwave ovens, replacing part 3405-001034. The switch detects when the door is fully closed and completes the safety circuit, so the microwave runs only when the door is shut. When it fails, the microwave may not start, may not heat, or may only run if you push or jiggle the door.
Microwaves often use more than one door switch, and each is sold individually. Check that the switch you are replacing is the normally open type and goes in the same position.
⚠️ Critical Safety Part — Switch Type And Position Must Match Exactly Door interlock switches work together as a safety system. Installing the wrong type (normally open vs. normally closed) or putting a switch in the wrong position can let the microwave run with the door open, a serious radiation hazard. Replace each switch with the exact same type in the exact same position, and test the microwave after replacement. If you are not qualified to service microwave ovens, use a trained technician.
Quick Answer

⚠️ Unplug Microwave And Beware Of The High Voltage Capacitor Unplug the microwave before starting and never operate it with the cabinet open. The high voltage capacitor can hold a lethal charge even after the microwave is unplugged. If your repair requires removing the outer cabinet, discharge the capacitor safely first, or have a qualified technician do the work.
⚠️ Photograph Switch Positions Before Removing Anything The switches are accessed at the door latch assembly. Before disconnecting anything, photograph each switch and its wiring, and move the wires one at a time so each goes back to the correct terminal. Make sure the actuator lines up with the latch and the switch clicks freely. After reassembly, test the microwave with a microwave-safe cup of water.

XPARTCO 3406107 Dryer Door Switch Replaces WP3406107
The XPARTCO 3406107 is an aftermarket replacement door switch for Whirlpool, Kenmore, Maytag, and KitchenAid dryers. Mounted inside the upper corner of the front panel, this safety switch has a spring-loaded black tab that gets pressed in when the door closes. That contact tells the control board the door is shut, which is required before the dryer will start, and it also powers the interior drum light. Over time the switch's internal contacts wear out or the tab loses spring tension, and the dryer either won't start at all or runs with the door open — a safety condition the switch is specifically designed to prevent.
This is a three-wire SPDT (single pole, double throw) switch built to the same dimensions and mounting points as the original, and it's designed to remain compatible with older two-wire harnesses as well. Direct-fit aftermarket replacement, no wiring modifications needed.
Quick Answer
The XPARTCO 3406107 Dryer Door Switch fixes a dryer that won't start, runs with the door open, or has a dead interior light. Direct-fit replacement for OEM WP3406107. Classic symptom: pressing start does nothing until you push and hold the door shut, or the drum light never comes on.
Common Problems This Part Fixes
Dryer won't start even though the door is closed
Dryer runs with the door open (safety switch failure)
Interior drum light doesn't turn on
Door doesn't seem to latch or seal properly against the switch tab
Drum doesn't spin, or cycle stops intermittently
Touchpad or start button appears unresponsive
Cross Reference Information
Part numbers can change over a product's lifecycle as manufacturers update designs or release new appliance models. For your convenience, we've included any known superseded, alternate, or cross-reference part numbers that match this item.
Replaces Part Numbers
This door switch directly replaces the following part numbers:
WP3406107, WPW10569603, 3406107, 3406109, W10569603, 3405100, 3405101, 3406100, 3406101, ES6107, 528948, 11259-65, PD00002378, EAP11741701, AP6008561, AWP47183, PS11741701
This switch design was updated to a three-wire configuration at some point in its production history (superseding older 3405100/3405101/3406100/3406101 numbers), but the current three-wire version remains compatible with older two-wire harnesses, so it's a safe direct replacement across all of these part numbers.
Compatibility
This door switch is compatible with a wide range of Whirlpool, Kenmore, Maytag, and KitchenAid dryers, including units across the:
Whirlpool/Kenmore Series 60, 70, 80, 90, 500, 600, 700, and 800 dryer lines
AED4475TQ1, MEDC400VW0, and numerous additional model numbers
Note: This switch has been used across a very wide range of Whirlpool-built dryers (including Kenmore, Maytag, and KitchenAid badged units) spanning many production years, so the list above is only a sample. Confirm your model number against your dryer's parts diagram, or contact our support team to verify fit before ordering.

Installation Notes
⚠️ Unplug Power Before Installing Unplug the dryer or switch off its circuit breaker before beginning. The switch is mounted inside the upper corner of the front panel, so you'll need to remove the front panel or top panel per your model's service guide to access it. Disconnect the wire connector from the old switch, then remove the mounting screw(s) holding it in place. Install the new switch in the same position, reconnect the wire connector, and reinstall the panel. Before closing everything up, you can test the switch by pressing the black tab — you should feel spring resistance and hear or feel a distinct click. Restore power and confirm the dryer starts normally with the door closed and stops when the door is opened.
Frequently Asked Questions
My dryer won't start — is this the part I need?
This is one of the most common causes of a dryer that won't start even with the door closed. Try pressing the black tab on the switch by hand — if it feels loose, doesn't click, or offers no resistance, the switch has likely failed and needs replacement.
My dryer runs even with the door open — is that dangerous?
Yes, this indicates the door safety switch has failed in a way that no longer prevents operation with the door open, which is a safety hazard. Replace the switch promptly and avoid running the dryer with the door open in the meantime.
My dryer has a two-wire connector — will this three-wire switch still work?
Yes. This switch was redesigned to a three-wire configuration but remains compatible with older two-wire wiring harnesses, so it's a safe direct replacement regardless of which wire configuration your dryer currently has.
Does this switch also control the interior light?
Yes. This switch serves a dual function — it's the safety interlock that permits the dryer to run only with the door closed, and it also powers the interior drum light when the door is open.

XPARTCO WB24X10146 Microwave Door Switch
The XPARTCO WB24X10146 is an aftermarket replacement micro switch (also called a door interlock switch) compatible with a wide range of GE, Hotpoint, RCA, Kenmore, and Sears over-the-range and countertop microwaves. This is a "stand on" style normally-open (NO) interlock switch, identified by the internal designation KW3A-NO, that mounts near the door latch and only closes its circuit when the door is fully shut and latched. The control board reads this switch as part of a multi-switch safety interlock chain that confirms the door is secure before allowing the magnetron to energize.
When this switch fails, the microwave commonly won't start at all, trips a door-related error code, or in rare cases can allow the unit to run with the door not fully secured — which is a safety-relevant fault, not just a convenience one. It directly replaces WB24X10146, WB24X28941, MW-7100-33, AGE22794, AH1019163, AP3866977, 1166990, EA1019163, EAP1019163, PD00039881, PS1019163. Installs in 15–20 minutes with basic hand tools.
Quick Answer
The XPARTCO WB24X10146 Microwave Door Switch fixes GE, Hotpoint, RCA, and Kenmore/Sears microwaves that won't start, display a door-related error code, or have a door that doesn't reliably confirm as closed. Normally-open (NO) "stand on" interlock switch, rated 250VAC / 16A, with 0.187" (4.7mm) quick-connect terminals. Replaces WB24X10146, WB24X28941, MW-7100-33, AGE22794, AH1019163, AP3866977, 1166990, EA1019163, EAP1019163, PD00039881, PS1019163. Classic symptom: turntable light and display work, but pressing Start does nothing.
Common Problems This Part Fixes
Microwave won't start when Start is pressed, even though the display and light work
Door-related error code or fault light on the display
Microwave randomly shuts off mid-cycle
Door feels like it isn't latching or registering as closed
Clicking sound from the door area with no response from the microwave
Intermittent operation that seems tied to how hard the door is closed
⚠ Safety-Relevant Component Door interlock switches are safety components that prevent the magnetron from energizing unless the door is fully closed and latched. Never bypass, jumper, or defeat a microwave door switch to "get it working" — doing so can allow microwave energy to leak while the door is open, which is a genuine radiation safety hazard. Always disconnect power before servicing, and replace all interlock switches in the chain if more than one shows signs of wear.

Compatibility
This door switch is compatible with a wide range of GE-built microwaves across the following brands:
GE over-the-range and countertop microwaves (JVM, PVM, and CEB series, including JEM3072DH1BB, JEM3072SH1SS, JNM3161DF2BB, and CCWK15C1W1DS/SS)
Hotpoint microwaves (GE-built models)
RCA microwaves (GE-built models)
Kenmore and Sears microwaves (select GE-built models)
Note: Do not confuse this with the similarly styled EXP499/EXP497 microwave door switches, which also use 4.7mm terminals but are not the same switch. WB24X10146 is a "stand on" style switch specific to GE's own interlock design — always match by part number, not terminal size alone. Always verify your appliance model number before ordering.
Key Features
Normally-open (NO) "stand on" door interlock switch, internal designation KW3A-NO
Resolves "won't start," "door error code," and "shuts off mid-cycle" symptoms caused by interlock switch failure
Rated 250VAC / 16A for reliable switching under microwave load
0.187" (4.7mm) quick-connect terminals for a secure wire connection
Direct-fit mounting to match the original interlock bracket

Installation Notes
⚠️ Unplug Microwave Before Starting Disconnect power at the outlet, and for built-in/over-the-range units also switch off the dedicated circuit breaker — microwaves store high voltage in the capacitor even after unplugging. Remove the outer cabinet or control panel cover to access the door switch assembly near the latch mechanism. Photograph the wiring before disconnecting, since GE microwaves typically use two or three interlock switches wired in sequence and mixing up the connections can leave the unit unsafe to operate. Disconnect the quick-connect terminals from the old switch, noting which wire goes to which terminal. Remove the mounting screw(s) holding the switch to its bracket and remove the old switch. Install the new WB24X10146 in the same position and secure it with the mounting screw(s). Reconnect the terminals exactly as photographed. Reassemble the cabinet or panel, restore power, and test that the door registers correctly and the microwave starts normally. Tools needed: Phillips screwdriver, nut driver (for cabinet screws).
Frequently Asked Questions
My microwave's display and turntable light work, but it won't start — is this the part?
This is a classic symptom of a failed door interlock switch. The control board needs a confirmed "door closed and latched" signal from all switches in the interlock chain before it will energize the magnetron. If that signal is missing from even one switch, most GE microwaves will power up normally but refuse to start a cook cycle. Confirm with a multimeter continuity test on the suspect switch before ordering, since GE microwaves usually use more than one interlock switch.
Is this the same as the EXP499 or EXP497 microwave door switch?
No — while all three use similar 4.7mm terminals, they are different switches used in different microwave platforms and are not interchangeable. WB24X10146 is GE's own "stand on" KW3A-NO design. Always match by part number rather than terminal size or general appearance.
Is it safe to keep using the microwave if I suspect this switch is bad?
We'd recommend not continuing to use it until it's repaired. Door interlock switches exist specifically to prevent microwave energy from leaking out while the door is open or not fully latched. If a switch is failing intermittently, the microwave may seem to work sometimes, but that's not a reason to keep using it — replace the switch before further use, and never attempt to bypass or jumper an interlock switch.
How many interlock switches does my GE microwave have, and do I need to replace them all?
Most GE microwaves use two or three interlock switches wired in sequence (often a primary switch, a secondary/monitor switch, and sometimes a door sensing switch). You typically only need to replace the specific switch that's testing bad, but if one has failed from age or wear, the others are often not far behind — some technicians replace the full set at once to avoid a repeat repair call.

XPARTCO 3406105 Dryer Door Switch Replaces WP3406105
The XPARTCO 3406105 is an aftermarket replacement dryer door switch assembly compatible with a wide range of Whirlpool-family dryers including Whirlpool, Kenmore, Maytag, KitchenAid, Amana, Roper, Estate, Crosley, Inglis, Admiral, Jenn-Air, Magic Chef, and Norge. The door switch is a safety component mounted inside the dryer cabinet near the door opening. When the door is closed, the door strike depresses the switch actuator, completing the circuit and allowing the dryer to start and run. When the door is opened, the switch opens the circuit and stops the dryer. On models with a broken belt detection circuit, the door switch also plays a role in belt failure detection. A failed door switch causes the dryer to either not start at all or to run continuously with the door open.
This is a Single Pole, Double Throw (SPDT) 3-wire switch with stainless steel terminals and a heat-resistant housing. It measures 1-3/4" L x 1-5/8" W x 1-1/4" H with a 7-3/4" wiring harness. Electrical specs are 120-240V, 50-60Hz, 11A, 1/3HP. The kit includes the switch and 3-wire harness assembly. It directly replaces WP3406105, 3406104, 3405104, 3405105, 528947, AP6008560, and several additional cross-reference numbers. Installs in 15–30 minutes with basic hand tools.

Installation Notes
⚠️ Unplug Dryer Before Starting Disconnect power (and shut off gas for gas dryers) before beginning. The door switch is located inside the dryer cabinet near the door opening, typically mounted in the front panel or top panel. Access it by inserting a putty knife under the top panel to release the spring clips and lift the top, then release the front panel. Locate the old door switch — it is a small rectangular component with a spring-loaded actuator button. Photograph the wiring connections before disconnecting. Disconnect the 3-wire harness from the old switch. Release the switch from its mounting bracket by pressing the retaining tabs and pulling the switch free, or unscrewing the mounting screw. Snap the new 3406105 switch into the mounting bracket and reconnect the 3-wire harness in the same positions. Reassemble the front and top panels, restore power, and run a test cycle to confirm the dryer starts, stops when the door is opened, and runs normally. Tools needed: Phillips screwdriver, putty knife.
Frequently Asked Questions
What does the dryer door switch do?
The door switch is a safety component that monitors whether the dryer door is open or closed. When the door is closed, the door strike depresses the switch actuator, completing the electrical circuit and signaling the control board that it is safe to run. When the door is opened, the actuator releases, opening the circuit and stopping the dryer immediately. On many Whirlpool-family dryers, the 3-wire SPDT switch also provides a secondary circuit used for broken belt detection — one of the switch's contacts is part of the motor start circuit, while the other is part of a safety cutoff circuit.
How do I test the door switch with a multimeter?
Unplug the dryer and disconnect the switch from the harness. Set your multimeter to continuity mode. The 3406105 is an SPDT switch with three terminals — typically labeled Common (C), Normally Open (NO), and Normally Closed (NC). With the actuator button not pressed (door open position), you should read continuity between C and NC, and no continuity between C and NO. With the actuator button pressed (door closed position), you should read continuity between C and NO, and no continuity between C and NC. Any deviation from this pattern confirms the switch has failed.
What is the difference between 3406105 and 3406104?
The 3406104 was the original part number, and the 3406105 (later updated to WP3406105) is the current replacement that superseded it. They are the same door switch and are fully interchangeable. The 3405104 and 3405105 are also cross-references for this same switch from earlier production. If your dryer's documentation or old switch label shows any of these numbers, the 3406105 is the correct current replacement.
Why does this switch have 3 wires when my old switch only had 2?
The WP3406105 is an SPDT (Single Pole, Double Throw) switch with 3 terminals — Common, Normally Open, and Normally Closed. Some older dryer models used a simpler 2-wire switch, but the 3-wire WP3406105 is the updated replacement that works on both older and newer models. On models that originally had a 2-wire switch, only two of the three terminals are used — the third is simply left unconnected. Follow your model's wiring diagram or take a photo of the original switch's wire connections before removing it.
Is this an OEM or aftermarket part?
This is an aftermarket replacement part built to OEM-equivalent quality standards. It is not a genuine Whirlpool OEM part, but is manufactured from durable plastic and metal with stainless steel terminals to match the dimensions and electrical specifications of the original WP3406105 door switch assembly.

XPARTCO EXP480 Microwave Door Switch (NC - NO) Normally Closed / Open
The XPARTCO EXP480 is a universal replacement door interlock switch for microwave ovens and microwave/oven combination units. This is a critical safety component: microwave door interlock switches exist specifically to cut power to the magnetron the instant the door opens, preventing any possibility of microwave radiation escaping the cavity while the door isn't fully closed and latched. This switch combines both a normally closed (NC) and normally open (NO) contact set in a single body, matching the dual-contact design used across a wide range of microwave door latch mechanisms.
Rated 16A maximum current, 250VAC maximum voltage, with an IP40 protection rating. Over time, these switch contacts can wear, pit, or fuse together from repeated cycling and the electrical load they carry every time the door opens and closes. A failing interlock switch typically shows up as a microwave that won't start at all, a display that works but the unit won't heat, or in less common but more serious cases, a switch that has fused shut and continues carrying current even when it shouldn't. It directly replaces 28QBP0496, W10211972, 4375346, W10330566, WPW10330566, 1472224, 4393442, 4393498, 4393570, 4393697, 4393881, 461967848881, 8206345, W10131248, W10217468, AH2338920, EA2338920, AP4357880, PS2338920, KW3A-16Z0-A200-76, W10727360, W10269457, 3379124, AP5950105, and PS10057151.
Quick Answer
The XPARTCO EXP480 Microwave Door Switch (NC - NO) fixes microwave ovens and microwave/oven combos that won't start, won't heat, or have a door latch mechanism that isn't reliably cutting power when the door opens. 16A, 250VAC, combined NC/NO contact design. Replaces 28QBP0496, W10211972, 4375346, W10330566, WPW10330566, 1472224, 4393442, 4393498, 4393570, 4393697, 4393881, 461967848881, 8206345, W10131248, W10217468, AH2338920, EA2338920, AP4357880, PS2338920, KW3A-16Z0-A200-76, W10727360, W10269457, 3379124, AP5950105, PS10057151. Never operate a microwave with a bypassed, disconnected, or suspected-faulty door interlock switch — these switches exist to prevent radiation exposure and must always be replaced with a properly rated part, never removed or defeated.

⚠️ Danger — Never Bypass A Door Interlock Switch Unplug the microwave before beginning any work, and if it's a built-in or over-the-range unit, shut off power at the breaker as well. Microwave ovens also contain a high-voltage capacitor that can retain a dangerous electrical charge even after the unit is unplugged — avoid touching internal components near the capacitor and magnetron. Door interlock switches are a critical safety system: they exist specifically to cut power the instant the door opens, preventing microwave radiation from escaping the cavity. Never operate a microwave with an interlock switch disconnected, bypassed, or jumpered, even temporarily — doing so can expose you and others to microwave radiation. If you are not fully comfortable working inside a microwave's internal compartment, have a qualified appliance technician perform this repair instead.
⚠️ Photograph Wiring Before Disconnecting — Match The Failed Switch Exactly Wear work gloves. Remove the outer cabinet or access panel per your model's service instructions to reach the door switch assembly, typically located near the door latch mechanism. Photograph the wiring on the old switch before disconnecting anything, and confirm you're replacing the correct switch position if your microwave uses multiple interlock switches. Disconnect the wire terminals from the old switch, remove its mounting screws, and pull it free. Install the new EXP480 in the same position, reconnect each wire terminal to its original position, and secure the mounting screws. Reinstall the cabinet or access panel. Restore power and test that the microwave starts normally with the door closed, and — this is the critical safety check — confirm the unit stops heating immediately when the door is opened during a test run with a cup of water. Tools needed: Phillips screwdriver, work gloves.
Frequently Asked Questions
My microwave stopped working. How do I know if it's actually a door switch and not something else?
A common pattern is a microwave where the display and buttons respond normally, but pressing start does nothing, or the unit hums without heating — this points toward the door interlock circuit rather than the control board. Since these switches also serve a critical safety function, if you suspect a fault in this area, it's best to have it properly diagnosed and replaced rather than working around the symptom.
Is it safe to just disconnect a faulty interlock switch so the microwave will run?
No — this is not safe under any circumstances. Door interlock switches exist specifically to cut power to the magnetron the instant the door opens, preventing microwave radiation from escaping. Bypassing, disconnecting, or jumpering one of these switches removes that protection and can expose you and anyone nearby to microwave radiation, even if the microwave otherwise appears to run normally. Always replace a faulty switch with a correctly rated new one rather than working around it.
My microwave trips the breaker whenever I open the door. What does that mean?
This can indicate that one of the door switches — often the one that should open when the door opens — has fused or welded its contacts shut from repeated electrical stress, so it continues carrying current when it shouldn't. This is a genuine safety concern and the affected switch should be replaced promptly rather than continuing to use the microwave.
My microwave uses more than one door switch. How do I know which one to replace?
Most microwaves use two or three separate interlock switches working together, and they don't always share the same contact configuration. Check your appliance's parts diagram or the physical switch you're replacing to confirm it matches this NC/NO combination design before ordering, and always test or verify function with a multimeter if you're uncertain which specific switch has failed.

XPARTCO DG44-01002A Surface Element Infinite Switch
The XPARTCO DG44-01002A is an aftermarket replacement dual element infinite switch (energy regulator) for Samsung electric ranges. This switch does two jobs at once: it regulates how much electrical current reaches its surface element, which is what lets you dial in a precise heat level rather than just on/off, and it also controls the "hot surface" indicator light associated with that burner, letting you know when the element is still hot after use.
Over time, the internal contacts in this switch can wear, stick, or fail electrically. Because a single switch controls both functions, a failing switch can produce two very different-looking symptoms depending on which function is affected: the burner may stay stuck on high heat regardless of the dial setting, fail to produce any heat at all, or the hot surface indicator light may stay on for hours after the surface has completely cooled, even though the element itself tests fine. It directly replaces 2087510, MDSA-W21-SKM, MDSA-W888-UNM, MDSA-W888-UM, AP4337066, PS4240803, and EAP4240803.
Quick Answer
The XPARTCO DG44-01002A Surface Element Infinite Switch fixes Samsung electric ranges where a burner is stuck on high heat regardless of the dial setting, won't produce any heat at all, or the hot surface indicator light stays on for hours after the surface has cooled. Dual element design. Replaces 2087510, MDSA-W21-SKM, MDSA-W888-UNM, MDSA-W888-UM, AP4337066, PS4240803, EAP4240803. This switch controls both the element and its indicator light — if your indicator light won't turn off even though the burner is cool, this switch (not the element) is the cause.
Common Problems This Part Fixes
Burner stuck on high heat regardless of the dial setting
Burner won't produce any heat at all
Hot surface indicator light stays on for hours after the burner has completely cooled
Inconsistent heating — burner doesn't hold the selected temperature level
Unresponsive burner controls
Burner that heats erratically rather than at a steady, selected level

⚠️ Unplug Range Before Starting — Photograph Wiring Before Disconnecting Disconnect power at the outlet or shut off the circuit breaker before beginning. Wear work gloves. Access is typically from the rear of the control panel or the underside of the cooktop, depending on your model. Photograph the wiring connections on the old switch before disconnecting anything, since correct wire placement is essential for the switch to control the right burner and indicator light. Remove the screws securing the old switch, gently pry it out, and mark or note each wire's position for reference. Disconnect the wires from the old switch and remove it fully. Install the new DG44-01002A in the same position, reconnect each wire to its original terminal exactly as photographed, and secure the mounting screws. Restore power and test the burner across its full range of settings, confirming both the heat output and the indicator light behave correctly. Tools needed: screwdriver, pliers, pen or pencil for marking wires, work gloves.
Frequently Asked Questions
My hot surface light stays on for hours even though the burner has cooled down. Is this the switch?
Yes. This is a documented symptom specific to this switch, since it controls both the surface element and its indicator light together. If the light isn't going out even though the surface itself is cool to the touch, the switch — not the element — is the correct part to replace.
My burner is stuck on high heat no matter what setting I choose. Is that the switch or the element?
It could be either, so it's worth testing both with a multimeter before replacing. Test the radiant element first — it should read between 0 and 120 ohms if it's working correctly. Then test the infinite switch itself: remove it, connect a multimeter probe to each prong, and turn the switch to an on position. No continuity indicates the switch is the issue. Several customers have confirmed this exact symptom by swapping switches between two burners and watching the problem follow the switch, which is also a reliable way to isolate the cause if you have two dual-element burners.
Should I replace the element (DG47-00022A) at the same time?
Not necessarily, but it's worth testing both parts if you're not sure which one has failed, since a bad element and a bad switch can produce overlapping symptoms. If your multimeter tests confirm only the switch has failed, replacing just this part is sufficient.
Is this an OEM or aftermarket part?
This is an aftermarket replacement part built to OEM-equivalent quality standards. It is not a genuine Samsung OEM part, but is manufactured to match the dual-element switching function, wire terminal configuration, and mounting design of the original DG44-01002A infinite switch used in compatible Samsung electric ranges.

Installation Notes
⚠️ Unplug Dryer Before Starting — Wear Work Gloves Disconnect power and turn off the circuit breaker before beginning. Wear work gloves to protect your hands. Although the door switch appears easy to access from the front, on most Samsung dryer models the front panel actually needs to be removed to install the new switch cleanly. Unscrew and lift off the front panel — be careful not to drop it during reinstallation. Locate the old door switch mounted near the door frame opening. Photograph the wire connections before disconnecting. Unplug the wire harness from the old switch, release the retaining tabs or remove the mounting screws holding the switch in place, and pull it free. Install the new DC64-00828B switch in the same position, reconnect the wire harness, and reinstall the front panel. Restore power, then close the dryer door and start a cycle to confirm the door is properly detected and the dryer runs normally. Tools needed: Phillips screwdriver, work gloves.
Frequently Asked Questions
What do error codes dC, dF, dE, and d0 mean on Samsung dryers?
These door-related error codes on Samsung dryers all indicate the control board is not receiving the expected "door closed" signal from the door switch. dC and d0 commonly appear when the dryer cannot detect a closed door at the start of a cycle, while dF and dE appear when the door signal is lost during a cycle. The dryer's safety logic prevents operation under any of these conditions. Replacing a failed DC64-00828B door switch resolves these codes when the switch itself is the cause; if the codes persist after replacement, check the wiring harness between the switch and the control board for damage.
My dryer is running with the door open — what should I do?
A dryer that continues to run with the door open is a serious safety concern and should be addressed immediately. This usually indicates a failed door switch that is stuck in the "closed" position electrically, even though the door is physically open. Disconnect power to the dryer right away and avoid running it until the switch has been replaced. The DC64-00828B replacement restores normal safety behavior. Until the repair is complete, do not run the dryer.
What is the difference between DC64-00828B and DC64-00828A?
These are the same door switch across successive production revisions. DC64-00828A was the original part number and DC64-00828B is the current updated version. Both are fully interchangeable — if your dryer's parts diagram shows DC64-00828A, the DC64-00828B is the correct current replacement and is covered by this listing.
My dryer suddenly stops mid-cycle even though the door is closed — could this be the switch?
Yes — a door switch with intermittent contact failure is a common cause of unexplained mid-cycle shutdowns on Samsung dryers. The switch may be working correctly when first activated but losing its signal momentarily during operation due to vibration or worn internal contacts, causing the control board to interpret a momentary "door open" condition and stop the cycle. If this is happening repeatedly without any other identifiable cause, replacing the DC64-00828B door switch is the recommended fix.
Is this an OEM or aftermarket part?
This is an aftermarket replacement part built to OEM-equivalent quality standards. It is not a genuine Samsung OEM part, but is manufactured from durable plastic and metal to match the dimensions, switch contacts, and function of the original DC64-00828B dryer door switch.

XPARTCO 3949247 Washer Lid Switch Replaces 3949247V
The XPARTCO 3949247 is an aftermarket replacement lid switch assembly for Whirlpool top-load washers, and also fits select Roper, Estate, Kenmore, Inglis, Crosley, Amana, and KitchenAid models, including stacked washer/dryer laundry center units. This switch mounts to the underside of the cabinet top panel and tells the washing machine the lid is closed, allowing the wash cycle to begin.
Black plastic with wire leads, sold individually. Over time, the plastic on the switch's actuator can become brittle with age and break when the lid is closed roughly, or from the movement of an unbalanced load causing parts of the washer to strike it. Symptoms of a failing lid switch include the wash cycle not starting even when the lid is closed, error codes related to the lid being open, inability to advance through cycle selections, or the washer not spinning while still agitating normally. It directly replaces 3949247V, 3949247, 3949237, 3949239, 3949240, 3949247VP, 4248251, TJ90ES247, AP3100003, ES247, AP5983746, AWP227261, EAP350434, OEM17951247, PD00024284, PS11722098.

Installation Notes
⚠️ Unplug Washer And Shut Off Water Supply Before Starting Unplug your washer from the wall outlet and turn off the water supply before beginning. Wear work gloves. Remove the screws holding the access panel in place at the back of the machine, then carefully remove the panel and set it aside. Locate the lid switch assembly near the top, center of the washer's interior. Use a Phillips and flathead screwdriver to unscrew the three screws that hold the lid switch assembly in place. Disconnect the wire harness from the old lid switch and carefully remove it from the machine. Install the new 3949247 into the machine in the exact same manner the old switch was removed. Connect the wire harness to the new switch. Reattach the three screws to secure the switch in place. Replace the access panel and reattach its screws. Turn on the water supply and plug in the washer. Run a test cycle with the lid closed to confirm the washer starts and spins normally. Tools needed: Phillips head screwdriver, flat head screwdriver.
Frequently Asked Questions
My washer agitates but won't spin. Is this the part I need?
Yes, this is a well-documented symptom of a failed lid switch. This switch tells the washer's control system that the lid is closed before allowing certain functions, and spin specifically often requires this signal — a failed switch commonly leaves agitation working while blocking spin.
Why does this switch fail over time?
The plastic on the switch's actuator can become brittle with age and break when the lid is closed roughly. It can also break from the movement of an unbalanced load causing parts of the washer to strike it during a cycle.
Is this the same as the 3949238 switch?
No, these are separate lid switch part numbers, despite the similar numbering. Our 3949238 listing is used on different models. Always confirm your exact part number from your washer's parts diagram or the sticker on your old switch before ordering.
Is this an OEM or aftermarket part?
This is an aftermarket replacement part built to OEM-equivalent quality standards. It is not a genuine Whirlpool OEM part, but is manufactured to match the material, wiring, and switching function of the original 3949247V lid switch assembly used in compatible Whirlpool, Roper, Estate, Kenmore, Inglis, Crosley, Amana, and KitchenAid washers.
