⚠️ Unplug Washer and Shut Off Water Before Starting — Wear Work Gloves Disconnect power and turn off the water supply before beginning. Place towels under the washer — some residual water may spill from hoses during disassembly. Wear work gloves to protect your hands. Unthread the hot and cold water supply hoses from the inlet valve ports. Disconnect the drain hose from the outlet port using channel-lock pliers to release the spring clamp. Carefully tip the washer onto its side or back on a padded surface to access the underside. Disconnect the wiring harnesses to the drive motor and pull the rotor free — be prepared for some resistance, as the permanent magnets in the rotor require some effort to remove. Use a small awl inserted between the slider gear teeth to release the spring retainer. With the retainer released, pull off the old spring and slider gear. Note the orientation of the slider — teeth facing outward.
